Based in Brooklyn, the band signed to Seattle’s Sub Pop Records in 2014 with the release of their internationally acclaimed album ‘Passerby’ (co-produced by Aaron Dessner of The National). ‘Passerby’ featured in numerous ‘Best of 2014’ lists – including the Wall St Journal’s Top 15 Albums of 2014 – and was named Album of the Year by NPR’s Bob Boilen.

Described by Sub Pop co-founder Jonathan Poneman as “bracing, subtle, tender and magnificent”, Luluc’s music has won them critical acclaim and notable champions like Lucinda Williams, Matt Berninger (The National), Janet Weiss (Sleater Kinney), producer Joe Boyd and No Depression’s Peter Blackstock, among many others.

  • "Recently we've been using the 4400a stereo pair for all sorts of string and percussion instrument micing. Especially the studio upright piano and our collection of guitars."

  • "We record instruments and look to capture the tone pretty clean, so the 4400's are great mics as the tone is honest throughout the spectrum and always musical."

    — Luluc
  • "We've been using the VR2 mostly as a guitar cab mic (paired with a 57) and also a bit as a room drum kit mic. It is smooth and rich in the highs and enormous in the bottom end."
