After being on the road for 40+ years, knowing what you need to sound good is everything. The way your instruments are mic’d is crucial. As a percussionist, unfortunately you always get what’s left in the pack, unless you’re the leader! Incorporating microphones as part of your traveling gear is the only solution. Now for the real question – what microphones? sE microphones have given me the response, endurance, and overall qualitative support needed for the grueling road. In my humble opinion, sE microphones always deliver the goods, period!
